Convert PDF to Excel (.xlsx)

Turn the tables in a PDF into an Excel sheet. Stays on your device.

Drop the PDF with the tables

PDF up to 100 MB · The file never leaves your device.

How it works

Drop a PDF and its tables are ready as an Excel file in a moment. The text on each page is read in your browser together with where it sits; words that line up in columns and rows become a table, and each table is saved as a sheet in an .xlsx file. Before you download, the Result panel shows the first rows of every table it found, so you can see the columns came out right. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account and there is no limit on files or pages.

What converts well

PDFs made on a computer hold real text, and their tables come across cleanly: bank and credit card statements, GST invoices, salary slips, price lists, mark sheets and reports exported from accounting or HR software. No grid lines are needed — the columns are found from the gaps between them. A table that runs over several pages, like a long bank statement, becomes one sheet, and the header repeated on every page is kept only once. A description that wraps onto a second line stays in its own cell.

Numbers stay numbers

Amounts become real numbers that Excel can add up and sort: 1,23,456.00, 450, (1,200.00) for a negative and ₹ 500 all work, and Indian grouping is kept as the display format when the PDF uses it. Things that only look like numbers stay exactly as written — dates, account and Aadhaar numbers, codes with leading zeros and amounts marked Dr or Cr — so nothing is changed by mistake. You can choose a sheet for each table, or all tables on one sheet.

What doesn't, honestly

Tables are rebuilt from the position of text, not from the drawing of the page. Merged cells, tables inside pictures and very unusual layouts may need a little tidying. Text outside tables, like a letter's paragraphs, is left out — if a PDF has no table at all, each line becomes a row instead. Check totals before you rely on them.

Scanned PDFs

A scan is a picture of a table, so there is no text in it to put into cells. The tool tells you so instead of giving you an empty file, and one tap opens OCR PDF with your file already loaded. After OCR, convert the searchable PDF here.

Good companions

Bank statements often come with a password: open them first with Unlock PDF, on your device too. Need the words as a document rather than a table? Use PDF to Word.

Privacy

Statements and invoices carry account numbers and amounts. Your PDF is read and converted only on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.

Questions people ask

How do I convert a bank statement PDF to Excel for free?

Drop the statement on this page. Its tables are found and saved as an .xlsx inside your browser, and a statement that runs over several pages becomes one sheet. If the PDF has a password, unlock it first — on your device too.

Will the amounts be numbers I can add up?

Yes. Amounts like 1,23,456.00, (500.00) or ₹ 450 become real numbers, shown with Indian grouping when the PDF uses it. Dates, account numbers and amounts marked Dr or Cr stay exactly as written.

Why is my Excel file empty or missing a table?

The PDF is probably a scan — a picture of a table, not text. Run OCR PDF first, then convert the searchable PDF. A table that is itself an image inside the PDF cannot be read either.

Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted only on your phone or computer. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, and there is no sign-up.
