How to compress

The marksheet-and-certificate target

200 KB is the limit you meet when uploading scanned documents to application portals: marksheets, degree certificates, experience letters, category and income certificates. These are usually one to four scanned pages, and 200 KB is a realistic home for them. Drop the PDF above — the 200 KB chip is preselected — then check the preview and download.

What a good 200 KB scan looks like

Scanners default to far more detail than an upload needs; a three-page scan at 300 DPI easily weighs 6 MB. Compressed well, those pages fit in 200 KB with text that is still crisp, because we pick the highest sharpness that fits rather than a fixed, brutal quality. You see the first page at real size before downloading — if a stamp, seal or faint signature matters, zoom in and check it there.

When 200 KB will not happen

Ten or more scanned pages into 200 KB means unreadable pages, and we refuse to produce those silently. If the target is impossible at readable sharpness, we tell you and give the smallest readable file instead. In that case either upload at a looser limit like 500 KB or 1 MB if the portal allows one, or split the document and upload only the pages asked for.

Statements and protected files

A bank statement that opens with a password works here too: type the password when prompted and the compressed file is saved without it, which portals generally require. The password is used on your device and nowhere else.

Why in-browser matters for these documents

Marksheets and certificates carry your name, numbers and signatures. On this site they are never uploaded — compression happens inside your browser, on your device, and the file never travels. It is also simply faster: no upload, no queue, no download of someone's server output.

The rest of the form

Portals that want a 200 KB PDF usually want a photo and signature too. Make them with the exam photo maker and signature maker, or check the files you already have against your exam's rules.

Questions people ask

How big a scan can realistically fit in 200 KB?

One to four scanned pages usually fit while staying crisp. Beyond that, readability starts to compete with the limit — we always show you the result before you commit.

Will stamps and seals stay visible?

Yes in most cases — and you can verify in the full-size preview before downloading. If the target would blur them, we say the target is unreachable rather than hand you a bad file.

Can I compress just one page out of a bigger PDF?

Not yet — splitting is coming as its own tool. Today, if the portal only needs one page, export that page from your phone’s viewer first, then compress it here.

Is the document safe?

It never leaves your device — the compression runs in your browser, with no upload and no server copy.
