How to compress

50 KB means one page

A 50 KB limit on a PDF is a quiet instruction: the portal wants one page. It is the cap you meet for a signed declaration, a caste or income certificate, a fee receipt or an NOC. Drop your PDF above — the target is already 50 KB — and we compress it on your device and show page one large enough to read before you download.

If your PDF has more than one page

Before compressing, ask which page the form actually needs. A three-page certificate scan often has the important part on page one, and the rest is blank backs or instructions. Take just that page out with Split PDF and compress the single page: one page with 50 KB to itself stays clear, while three pages sharing 50 KB get about 16 KB each, which is too little for scanned text. If the portal truly wants every page, check whether it allows 100 KB or more for multi-page uploads.

Start from a clean scan, not a dark photo

What you feed in decides what comes out. A phone photo taken under a yellow bulb carries shadows, grey paper and noise, and that noise eats kilobytes. If you are photographing the paper, use Scan to PDF instead: it straightens the page, flattens the shadows and offers a B&W mode that turns printed text into crisp black on white. Text documents in B&W compress far better than colour photos of the same page, so 50 KB stops being a struggle.

How we hit such a small number

At this size we redraw the page as a compact image, using the highest sharpness that still fits. Text in the result can't be selected any more — upload portals do not care — but it has to stay readable, and that is the one thing we will not trade away. If 50 KB is impossible without making the page unreadable, we tell you and hand over the smallest readable file instead of a blur.

Your document stays with you

Certificates and receipts carry your name, address and ID numbers. Everything here runs inside your browser; the PDF is never uploaded, so there is nothing for anyone to store or leak. Before you submit, the upload checker can confirm the size and format the form expects.

Questions people ask

Why can't my 10-page PDF get to 50 KB?

Ten pages would share about 5 KB each, which is not enough for readable text. Keep only the page the form asks for using Split PDF, then compress that one page.

My scan is still too big at 50 KB. What helps?

Rescan in better light or use Scan to PDF in B&W mode. Clean black-on-white text compresses much smaller than a grey, shadowy phone photo.

Will the text still be readable?

Yes, that is the line we hold. If 50 KB would make the page unreadable we say so and give you the smallest readable file instead.

Is my certificate uploaded anywhere?

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to us.
